Meet Dylan Woytcke of Minneapolis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dylan Woytcke. Them and their team share their story with us below:

NATL PARK SRVC was formed in 2019 with Dylan Woytcke, Jared Leger, and Nathan Zillmer. Over that year, they released three EPs (OLIVER, Psychic Friends Fair, and The Future are Now) and were joined by violinist Sam Tudor. In early 2020, the band wrote and recorded their first full-length LP, “The Dance,” and were joined by saxophonist Wes Muilenburg, trombonist Joe Keyport, and drummer Sage Livergood. The Dance was released in 2021, with their eyes on the future. They decided to revisit some old demos and hone in their sound with a new ep, “EP4,” before moving on to their next large-scale project.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest struggles we’ve dealt with is recording such dense arrangements. You have to develop an ear for when things should happen and when certain instruments should play or not. We’ve honed in on a good method for writing and recording that can best showcase our instrumentation.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
NATL PARK SRVC is an indie rock band that uses effervescent instrumentation to create anthemic pop rock landscapes that are not typically heard in the greater midwest area. We’ve put out a handful of projects over the past 4 years and have made a name for ourselves with our bombastic live shows.

Had we love to hear about any fond memories you have from growing up?
When Sam went to the malt shop as a kid, he got a chocolate shake and a chicken bone at the bottom.
