Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Doherty.
Hi Emily, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have an education background in business and social work, but was finding myself unsatisfied with typical salary positions. During COVID, I had an opportunity to make a career change and I began my real estate career as a part of a large scale team and after being able to help dozens of clients, I decided that it was time for me to go out on my own and become an independent agent under Coldwell Banker. Today I serve the Greater Rochester Area in Residential Real Estate, and the job is a perfect blend of relationship building and business strategy!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been the smoothest road. There’s so much to learn in Real Estate and your first year is really a crash course of many different types of situations and scenarios. Initially when I began- I saw some of my peers getting sales before I was, and it got to me for a while, but I just kept at it and was consistent with follow up and soon thereafter, I had 7 transactions in a month!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in Residential Real Estate in the Greater Rochester MN Area. I specialize in relocation and first time home buyers. In Rochester, we have many residents and physicians coming into town to work for the Mayo Clinic and I love helping these people get re-situated here. What sets me apart from others is the time that I take to get to know my clients and what their specific needs are, I have a variety of programs that I work with to help all types of buyers and sellers have the most convenient real estate experience yet!
