Hi Emma, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
started Lakes Area Cosmetic Bar because I saw a gap in how aesthetic services were being delivered in our community. After 16 years as a registered nurse and nearly 9 years as a Master Injector, I realized that many people felt intimidated by the clinical, sterile environment of traditional med spas.
I wanted to create something different – a place where people could feel comfortable discussing their aesthetic goals without judgment. The ‘cosmetic bar’ concept came from wanting to make these services feel approachable and casual, like meeting a friend who happens to be an expert in helping you look and feel your best.
My mission became clear: help people build confidence by enhancing their natural qualities in an affordable, welcoming atmosphere. I’ve seen firsthand how the right treatment can transform not just someone’s appearance, but their entire outlook on life.
As both a healthcare professional and educator, I also wanted to ensure that every client receives the highest standard of care while feeling genuinely heard and understood. That’s why I maintain my role as an Aesthetic Trainer – I believe in continuous learning and sharing knowledge to elevate the entire industry.
Ultimately, I started this business because I believe everyone deserves to feel confident in their own skin, and I wanted to create a space where that transformation could happen comfortably and safely.”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have made mistakes definitely along the way in business but you learn from everyone and use it as growth.

When I look at a person’s face I see a master piece! They tell me what they want and I work with them creating a journey to help grow there confidence.
