Meet Eric Mark Fischer of Advantage Us, and Intrinsic, llc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Mark Fischer

Hi Eric Mark, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story is one of transformation—of breaking down, rebuilding, and learning how to live from the inside out.

I spent eight years as a professional baseball player in the Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins organizations before my career was cut short by four arm surgeries. That loss forced me to pivot, and I found a new path in filmmaking, producing over 20 feature films out of Hollywood. On the outside, I was successful. But internally, I was unraveling.

Between high-pressure careers, personal attacks, lawsuits, and unresolved trauma, I turned to alcohol as a way to cope. What started as a release became my downfall. I lost myself. Addiction took hold, and I nearly lost my life.

Hitting rock bottom was my catalyst. I got sober. I went all in on rebuilding—not just quitting drinking, but reshaping my entire existence. I took deep dives into psychology, neuroscience, human behavior, and functional health, determined to understand why we do what we do and how we can break cycles that no longer serve us.

I returned to coaching—something I had done for 23 years, working with athletes and high performers—but this time, with a new purpose. I became certified as a life coach and began working with individuals looking to reclaim their lives, helping them bridge the gap between who they are now and who they have the potential to be.

That’s what led me to create The Intrinsic Podcast—a platform for deep, unscripted conversations with athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs, and experts who’ve battled through adversity and come out stronger. My mission is to help people shift from being stuck in cycles of self-sabotage to living with intention, purpose, and clarity.

My journey isn’t just about overcoming—it’s about evolving, learning intrinsically, and helping others do the same.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A smooth road? Not even close. But I wouldn’t change a thing.

I’ve had to rebuild my life more than once. First, when my professional baseball career ended after eight years due to four arm surgeries. Then, when I pivoted to Hollywood, producing over 20 feature films—only to find myself caught in legal battles, personal attacks, and an industry that fed my worst habits. And the hardest of all—when I faced my addiction head-on and had to completely reconstruct who I was from the ground up.

Getting sober wasn’t just about quitting alcohol. It was about undoing years of patterns, trauma, and false identities I had built to survive. It meant looking at myself objectively, taking responsibility, and doing the hard, uncomfortable work of change. I had to rebuild my body, my mind, my relationships—everything. That’s when I dove deep into psychology, neuroscience, human behavior, and functional health. I needed to understand how we break cycles, why we sabotage ourselves, and most importantly—how we heal.

Now, as a functional health and wellness coach, life coach, and host of The Intrinsic Podcast, I use what I’ve learned to help others take control of their lives, break free from self-imposed limitations, and start living with real clarity and purpose.

The road wasn’t smooth. But the obstacles were the path.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I help people and organizations transform from the inside out.

As a Functional Health & Wellness Coach, Life Coach, and Speaker, I specialize in guiding individuals—entrepreneurs, athletes, high performers, and those seeking lasting change—toward a more intentional and purpose-driven life. My work isn’t just about health; it’s about optimizing the mind, body, and habits to create a sustainable, high-performance lifestyle.

On the personal level, I work with individuals who are ready to take control of their routines, mindset, and well-being. Whether it’s breaking unhealthy cycles, building resilience, or implementing functional health strategies, I help people shift from surviving to thriving.

On the organizational level, I help businesses and teams build systems that support high performance, well-being, and productivity. Too often, companies focus solely on results without addressing the human element—burnout, mental clarity, energy management, and overall workplace culture. I work with organizations to create sustainable structures that enhance both individual and collective performance.

What sets me apart? I’ve lived it. I know what it’s like to hit rock bottom, to rebuild, to optimize, and to come out stronger. My deep dives into psychology, neuroscience, human behavior, and functional health aren’t just academic—they’re personal. I take a real-world, no-fluff approach to transformation, meeting people where they are and helping them create tangible, lasting change.

I’m also the host of The Intrinsic Podcast, where I have unscripted, thought-provoking conversations with athletes, entrepreneurs, authors, and experts who have overcome adversity and built meaningful lives. My mission is to bring raw, transformative conversations to the forefront, helping listeners connect with stories that inspire real change.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the fact that everything I offer is real, actionable, and rooted in experience. Whether it’s one-on-one coaching, organizational consulting, or speaking engagements, my work is about creating lasting impact—not just temporary motivation.

For anyone looking to take their life, health, or business to the next level, I encourage them to reach out. Change is possible. And it starts with taking action.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Transformation doesn’t happen overnight, but it happens the moment you decide to stop running from yourself.

For years, I was chasing—chasing success, chasing distractions, chasing anything that kept me from looking in the mirror. But the truth is, you can’t outrun yourself. Eventually, life catches up, and you’re faced with a choice: keep numbing, keep avoiding, or lean in and do the work.

The work isn’t easy—but neither is staying stuck.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: You don’t just wake up one day as the person you want to be. You build that person, choice by choice, action by action.

I rebuilt my life through intentional living—through functional health, understanding human behavior, and committing to the process of growth. And now, that’s what I help others do. Not just in theory, but in real, tangible ways.

Whether it’s breaking free from cycles that no longer serve you, stepping into your potential, or creating systems that actually support success, change is possible. But no one is coming to save you. You have to decide.

Life isn’t about finding yourself. It’s about creating yourself. And if you’re ready to take that step, I’m here to help.
