Today we’d like to introduce you to GI Gizzle.
Hi GI, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My father has played in a band since before I was born all the way up to currently. I’ve always had a fetish for music and the joy it brings. I want to tell my story in hopes of it motivating and helping others. I started off just writing but developed a hunger to really learn the business and be able to put others in a position to win as well.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Being an incoming artist in a place like MN is a struggle in itself. There are not a lot of resources and I often had to hit the road to make real progress. Not to mention how speedy that can be.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am the CEO of 1000 Entertainment as well as the owner of the brand “Dirtbagz”. Most known for my single with Boosie Badazz “Barcode” and multiple albums with Rich The Factor, as well as the locally popular brand “dirtbagz” which is gaining momentum and support throughout the Twin Cities area. I am proud of the progression that I’ve been making over the past 3 years as well as the recognition I get from established artists, DJ’s and label execs around the country in the hip hop world. I would have to say my drive and work ethic definitely set me apart from others. My authenticity and being able to be myself bring originality.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
You never know what to expect. Take advantage of the opportunities when they present themselves and save as much as possible. Keep learning to ensure elevation.
