Meet Hannah Brooks of Granger

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Brooks.

Hi Hannah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was working a 9-5 job in the city, feeling unmotivated and stuck. One day, I was talking to my husband about all the things I wanted to do ‘one day (wedding planning being one of them, as I LOVED planning my wedding), and he asked, “why not just go for it?” That got my wheels turning. I thought, “It costs $0 to build a website. I could try it and see.” So I did! A few months later, I created a Facebook and Instagram page with my website. I put my name out there, and my business took off. I can’t imagine doing anything else! Now, I am almost two years in, and I am forever grateful for the little push my husband gave me to go for it and pursue my dreams.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
I have had some struggles-tough brides and caterers not showing up on the wedding day. But everything works out how it’s supposed to, and I am grateful for the bumps in the road that make me better!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a wedding and event planner. I believe that what sets me apart is my ability to get a sense/feel for what the bride and groom (or people hosting said event) want. I am most proud of how I can capture the stories and visions of the bride and groom and bring them to life for the biggest day of their life.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
You can’t predict anything, so always be prepared for the worst, but hope for the best.
