Meet Jenessa Rudell of PeakBalance Neurofeedback, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenessa Rudell.

Hi Jenessa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Minnesota State University, Mankato. After graduation, I moved to Fort Collins, Colorado where I worked for the largest community mental health agency in Northern Colorado. It was there that I discovered neurofeedback and it immediately resonated.

When I returned to Minnesota to be closer to family, I was struck by how little exposure there had been to neurofeedback during my education and early career here. That gap fueled my decision to start a private practice. Today, I’m deeply passionate about expanding access to neurofeedback and offering effective, alternative mental health care options.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Marketing was one of my biggest obstacles. As a Clinician, I was trained to provide care – not to promote services. I approached that challenge by reframing marketing as authentic education. I also learned to pace myself and prioritize self-care, knowing that sustainable growth depends on a regulated nervous system and actions that align with my values.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
PeakBalance Neurofeedback, LLC is a private practice dedicated to helping adults improve symptoms of mental health via QEEG-guided neurofeedback services. A QEEG (Quantitative Electroencephalogram) measures the electrical activity in the brain (brainwaves). This assessment allows me to identify brain-based patterns that are keeping the individual stuck, along with developing personalized neurofeedback protocols to address the issue in a non-invasive manner.

Neurofeedback gently trains the brain toward healthier, more efficient functioning. During session, small sensors are gently placed on the client’s scalp so that they can receive feedback on how their brainwaves are working in live-time. This feedback helps the client learn how to self-regulate. The process is passive, medication-free, and designed to support long-term change.

I’m a LICSW and LADC who specializes in working with ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and substance abuse. I’m especially proud of building a practice that empowers clients to better understand their brains and take back control.
