Meet Jon Oney of Eagan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jon Oney.

Hi Jon, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It really all began with a deep realization of the power of story. Every one of us carries a story—of someone who believed in us, a challenge we faced, or a moment that changed everything. Stories move us because they tap into emotion, and emotion is what connects people. It reveals what we value, what we believe, and what makes us human.

When I started CSP, it was never just about making videos or designing websites—it was about using story to connect people in meaningful ways. I wanted to help brands amplify what matters most about who they are and what they stand for. We started with a simple investment and a lot of belief, and today we work with clients across the country—from Virginia to California—and even global brands who share that same desire to create real impact.

At the heart of it, our journey is proof that when you lead with story, you can bridge the gap between business and belief. You can inspire people, not just reach them.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. Starting a business is definitely not for the faint of heart. There were seasons where it felt like every step forward came with two steps back. I remember one point when I had to deliver pizzas at night just to keep things afloat. It was humbling, exhausting, and honestly—one of those moments that tests how much you really believe in what you’re building.

But looking back, I wouldn’t trade it. Those hard moments taught me resilience, creativity, and gratitude. They reminded me that great things rarely come easy—and that perseverance often separates a dream from a legacy.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
One of the things I’m most passionate about is using our work to do good beyond business. From the start, CSP has partnered with nonprofits—helping them tell their stories, raise awareness, and inspire support. There’s something incredibly meaningful about taking creative skills and using them to make a tangible difference in people’s lives.

We also give back every month by donating a portion of our earnings to help kids in Haiti through an organization called Haiti Empowered. They’re doing life-changing work—providing education, food, and opportunities that create lasting impact.

For me, it’s about remembering that success means more than profit. It’s about purpose. If what we create can both help our clients grow and help others thrive, that’s the kind of legacy I want CSP to have.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Most people are surprised to learn that my background isn’t in marketing or business—it’s actually in theology and pastoral studies. I spent years in ministry before stepping into the creative world. That experience shaped how I see everything we do at CSP.

It taught me that story isn’t just a marketing tool—it’s a bridge between people. Whether it’s faith, business, or art, the goal is the same: to connect, to inspire, and to bring hope. That perspective has guided how we lead, how we create, and how we serve our clients.

I think that’s why our work feels different. It’s not just about selling—it’s about helping people believe again. Believe in their message, their mission, and the good they’re bringing into the world.
