Today, we’d like to introduce you to Jonathon McCune. Jonathon was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Neal Greenberg.
Hi Jonathon, we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
Well, I had a few health problems growing up that kinda shaped my trajectory. When I was a baby, I had something called “failure to thrive” meaning I was losing weight rather than gaining weight, which is a pretty big red flag for an infant, and the doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong. A nurse my mom worked with suggested she take me to the local chiropractor. My mom was surprised, thinking what a neck-and-back-pain doctor would be able to do with a baby, but her coworker explained that chiropractic was not about treating symptoms so much as restoring optimal life expression. My desperate mother took a chance on chiropractic and it wasn’t long after my first adjustment that I began to put on weight and grow as normal. The chiropractor explained that she didn’t cure anything, she simply restored proper feedback between my little brain and my little body. Unfortunately, we didn’t continue with care once I was “thriving” again, and later in my childhood I began to develop severe seasonal allergies and debilitating migraines which interrupted my life on a regular basis. Again, a nurse my mom worked with suggested she take me to the local chiropractor. Remembering her former colleague’s advice fifteen years earlier, she took me to a chiropractor who did some very specific work around my brainstem. No more allergies, no more migraines. I did better in school, sports, clubs, etc. as if he had restored my access to my childhood. It was then I decided to become a chiropractor; so I could do for others what my chiropractors had done for me. I eventually attended chiropractic school, though unbeknownst to me, the university I chose is well known for not having as much faith in the traditional philosophy of chiropractic, and rather steer their students toward more of a primary-care, symptom-based model of the profession. Frustrated with this conflict, I attended a chiropractic philosophy conference out on the east coast. There I met a chiropractor who, as soon as I graduated, gave me a job in Lima, Peru adjusting the masses and sharing the philosophy of creating health and wellness rather than relying on a lifetime of pills, injections, and surgeries to make up for our unhealthy lifestyles. The only hitch was that I didn’t speak any Spanish beyond “Hola!” and “Adios!” so I needed to hire an interpreter to help me communicate with the community. This interpreter saw so many people’s lives change through my care, that she decided she wanted to become a chiropractor herself! With no accredited chiropractic schools in Latin America (outside of Portuguese-speaking Brazil), she applied for and received a scholarship to attend a school in the United States. I fired her. You shouldn’t date employees. We moved to the States together, got married, she graduated, practiced for a few years, and now we’re opening our new practice: The Chiro Duo.
Please tell us more about your practice.

Neal Greenberg and Phit.Club LLC have been great to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship with them as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Neal Greenberg and Phit.Club LLC and your experience with them.
Neal has been a friend of mine for about five years. When I decided to knock on the door of Freemasonry, an international fraternity teaching virtues, values and ethics, Neil was the Treasurer of the first Lodge I joined, and naturally became a respected mentor from then on. I was delighted when he mentioned the PhitStick to me a few months ago, not only because I have great respect for and faith in his endeavors, the PhitStick is the perfect tool for combating a big problem we see in chiropractic offices more and more every generation across the country: from scholar-spine to couch-back to tech-neck, the imbalance in the muscles of the upper back and neck creates pain, a hunched frame, and limited range of motion. None of us want our jobs, our cars, or our phones to turn us into little old people! The PhitStick that Neal introduced me to has fit perfectly into our protocols for healthy routine movement, as it targets just the right muscles in just the right way! It can fit on your desk, in a cupholder, on a nightstand…and it’s not prohibitively expensive…convenience and affordability create a sustainable change, and the PhitStick phits the bill.
