Meet Lauren Robbins of Wild Tree Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Robbins.

Hi Lauren, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Wild Tree Wellness as a group practice in 2015 when I was looking for a space to practice mental health therapy outside of the medical model. It felt really important to me to explore the mind-body connection within whole person health. Over the last 10 years, the ways I have navigated balancing of business, family, and being in a relationship with myself has evolved numerous times. Growing and adapting is a high value for me in all parts of my life. I am driven by passion and enthusiasm to be perpetually curious, not shying away from taking on challenges or changes in the world. Holistic health has always been a passion of mine, and as a trauma therapist, I’ve continued to grow in my exploration and embodiment of spirituality, healing, and finding joy in this life. I still work with clients, something that I love, even while managing the practice, because the direct care matters so much to me. I had a facility dog, my sweet girl, Natty, join me in my clinical work in October 2024 and it has been a joy to see the addition of an animal in the therapy room supporting emotional healing and growth.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting and growing a business is never a smooth process! Who I was as a person in 2015 is not who I am today. And that’s a good thing! I believe we continually evolve, and while I can feel proud of past versions of me, I also see the missteps. One thing I have been reminded of over and over again is to trust your gut. Intuition is a guiding force in choices I make today, however, it can be easy to feel influenced by fear and anxiety and make choices based on what “looks good on paper” or what “makes most sense” versus what feels right in your gut. I have traversed a road of many bumps and road blocks, but I am persistent and creative. As a visionary, I am able create something from every barrier I run into.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Wild Tree Wellness?
Wild tree wellness is a group private practice in the behavioral health space. We provide individual, couples and family mental health therapy services across the lifespan. Our work is focused on holistic health, encompassing the mind, body, and spirit in moving towards overall well-being. We have four locations in Minnesota – Saint Paul, White, Bear Lake, Eagan, and Hastings. Across our locations we have about 30 mental health therapists who provide outpatient care. As a practice, we utilize a trauma-based lens to explore how what has happened to someone influences the way that they navigate their relationships and how they view the world in an effort to support healing. I feel proud of the way our clinic space feels to both our therapists and their clients. We aim to provide a warm, cozy, home-like environment, where everyone feels welcomed.

How do you think about happiness?
I feel so much joy and freedom when I connect with nature. Going for a hike, challenging my body with movement, and connecting to the Earth fills me up. I also love a good, cozy space at home, reading a book and drinking a cup of coffee by the fireplace. Depth in relationship as well as personal authenticity also feels so important to me. A good conversation with a friend or laughing out loud until my face hurts is soul filling. I love to laugh. There is a quite joy that lives inside of me, the fire of which I have continually worked to stoke while seeking balance between running a business, raising a family and taking care of myself as a human being. I also love being a mom to my four young children. Watching the world through their eyes teaches me lessons in patience, gentleness, and silliness, approaches to life that all of us adults could use a reminder of from time to time.
