Today we’d like to introduce you to Lizbeth Jordan.
Hi Lizbeth, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey in the beauty industry started with a genuine love for makeup and the way it can make someone feel. What began as a passion slowly became something much bigger than I ever imagined.
I started by practicing, learning, and taking every opportunity I could to improve my skills. Like many entrepreneurs, I didn’t start with everything figured out. I learned through experience, invested in my education, made mistakes, grew from them, and continued pushing myself even during seasons when things felt uncertain.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with so many incredible clients for some of the most important moments of their lives from brides and quinceañeras to maternity sessions, photoshoots, special events, and everyday celebrations. Every client who trusted me helped me grow not only as an artist, but also as a business owner.
Today, after more than eight years in the beauty industry, I am proud to have built Lizbeth Jordan House of Beauty, a space where beauty, education, and confidence come together. My business has grown beyond makeup into hair, brows, lashes, color analysis, personalized beauty classes, and professional education for aspiring artists.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Building a business from the ground up has come with many challenges, sacrifices, and moments when I questioned whether I was on the right path.
One of the biggest struggles was building a clientele and creating a name for myself. In the beginning, there were slow seasons and times when I didn’t know when my next client would come. I had to learn that being talented at what you do is only one part of running a successful business. I also had to learn about marketing, social media, finances, customer service, boundaries, and all the responsibilities that come with being a business owner.
Another challenge has been balancing entrepreneurship with being a wife and mother. There have been many long days, early mornings, late nights, and moments when I have had to make sacrifices with my time. Finding that balance between being present for my family while continuing to build the future I envision for my business has not always been easy.
There have also been personal seasons that have tested me in ways I could never have prepared for.. One of the most difficult was losing my father while still having a business, clients, and responsibilities that continued even while I was grieving. Experiences like that have reminded me that behind every business is a real person who is also navigating life.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Lizbeth Jordan House of Beauty, we specialize in creating personalized beauty experiences that help our clients feel confident, beautiful, and still like themselves.
I began my career specializing in professional makeup, and over the years, my work has expanded into a full beauty experience. Today, we offer professional makeup and hairstyling for weddings, quinceañeras, maternity sessions, photoshoots, special events, and other important milestones. We also offer brow services, lash lifts, color analysis, personalized self-makeup classes, and professional beauty education.
I would say I am especially known for creating polished, elegant makeup that enhances each client’s natural features rather than covering them. I take the time to analyze the skin, facial features, personal style, event, and overall vision before creating a look. I want my clients to look in the mirror and recognize themselves just feeling like the most confident version of who they already are.
Education has also become a very important part of my work. I love teaching women not only how to apply makeup, but also why certain techniques, colors, and products work for them. Through my self-makeup and professional classes, I incorporate topics such as skin analysis, face and eye shapes, color theory, product knowledge, sanitation, different makeup techniques, and the business side of the beauty industry.
What sets us apart is the level of care and intention behind the experience.. For me, beauty is personal. It is not about applying the same look to every person who sits in my chair. Every client has different features, preferences, skin, and a different story. Listening to them and making them feel comfortable is just as important to me as the final result.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Some of my favorite childhood memories are actually the simplest ones. Growing up in Mexico, I remember going to my grandma’s house to play. She had these beautiful blue and purple flowers, and for some reason, that image has always stayed with me. Even today, thinking about those flowers brings me back to that feeling of being a little girl, surrounded by family and enjoying the simplicity of life.
Another memory that is very special to me is celebrating my birthday with my twin brothers. We would go to a Chinese buffet for our birthdays, and at the time, that was a luxury for us. As a child, it felt like such a big and exciting celebration.
Looking back now, I realize that we didn’t need extravagant things to create beautiful memories. Those experiences taught me to appreciate the little things and never forget where I came from. What may have seemed simple to someone else meant everything to us, and those are the memories I treasure the most today.
