Today we’d like to introduce you to Logan Strange
Hi Logan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a fascination with professional cameras, mostly the technical side of them. Meanwhile, my wife had a natural eye for photography and had been taking photos for fun throughout the years. Just before we got married, I decided to invest in a professional-grade camera, thinking it would be great for taking photos during our honeymoon in LA.
What started as a casual hobby quickly grew into something more. I kept experimenting and adding new lenses. At the time, I was working at a hospital surrounded by coworkers – many of them were young women planning their weddings. Eventually, I started offering to take wedding photos, just for fun. One of them took a chance on me, and that first wedding kinda changed everything.
The photos turned out better than I could have hoped, and from there the business took off. More coworkers asked me to photograph their weddings, and through word of mouth, we began booking clients all over Minnesota.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s mostly been pretty smooth for us. Of course that has its exceptions. The biggest hurdle has always been simply dealing with the sheer amount of photos taken on a wedding day as it’s a massive undertaking to sort, edit, and deliver all the best images while maintaining consistency and quality.
Trying to stay creative is also something that I think a lot of wedding photographers deal with. When you’re deep into busy wedding season it can be a challenge to come up with new poses and shot composition. New lenses always seem to help spark creativity. It’s exciting to see what new results we can come up with.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We specialize in wedding photography. We really enjoy capturing a day that means so much, not just to the couple, but everyone who is there to celebrate with them.
We are especially proud of our elopement weddings that we have shot because of the non traditional wedding locations, which allows us to get more unique shots.
What sets us apart is that we are a husband and wife team. After years of working together, we’ve gotten pretty good at reading each other from across the room.
We also bring our own creative styles to every shoot that we do. We’re always bouncing ideas off each other.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memories would be the roadtrips my family took throughout Wyoming, Utah and Arizona. We went hiking in the various states/parks. Moab, Utah was probably my favorite location as a kid,
