Hi Megan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Fairy Wren is a cumulation of our history, our loves, and our hobbies – flowers, books, birds, and tea.
We’ve always had the feminine appreciation of flowers – for their beauty, fragrance, and aestheic appeal. We wanted to create a sensory environment of vibrant colors and delicate forms that will always been inherently pleasing to the eye.
The emotional and intellectual escape provided by novels have always been a way to unwind and relax. Adding books to Fairy Wren allowed us to to create a cozy hub of tea culture and literature.
The Fairy Wren is known for it’s distinctive sky blue coloring, lively social behavior, and strong bonds, makeing it the perfect mascot for our tea bar. At Fairy Wren Dessert & Tea Bar, you’ll find cages full of flowers and books – symbolizing growth and renewal, bringing harmony and nature indoors, and creating a literary motif.
There’s a great debate between energizing from coffee or tea. While we are both avid drinkers of coffee and tea, with age, we have come to appreciate the healing properties and the gentler, more sustained energy of tea.
All the combined elements of nature, literature, and sophisticated herbal infusions, creates a beautiful and elegant boutique focused on the civilized pleasure of taking time for tea and refreshments.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
All business owners will have challenges in business. One of our obstacles was trying to furnish our tea house to align with the Fairy Wren theme during this year’s tariff disputes. Our opening dates were moved several times, due to delays from tariffs – causing a ripple effect on supply availability, production, shipping delays, and high taxes.
