Meet Mikaela Fisher of Mrs. Sippi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikaela Fisher

Hi Mikaela, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Since April 30th, 2023, I have been alcohol-free, nearing the two-year milestone. I was fortunate enough to avoid hitting rock bottom, instead experiencing a moment of reckoning after a month-long period of abstinence, during which I confronted my self-destructive tendencies, marked by hanxiety and guilt. While alcohol was not always a a negative influence in my life, it was not a consistently positive either. Moving forward to the present day, we have established a boutique-style non-alcoholic bottle shop which opened its doors on November 25, 2024. This venture was born after a friend introduced me to the emerging trend, inspiring me to create a space where all individuals from all walks of life feel recognized, respected and safe.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Choosing an alcohol-free lifestyle, again so thankful for my situation, has been incredibly easy. When your mind is made up about something, it makes the road a lot smoother.

Has it been a smooth road having the bottle shop? We had a great start and opening. Right before the holidays and then rolling into Dry January. I was warned about February and yes, we had much slower days, but every day we have had sales and new customers. One struggled we faced real fast was in our location, ordering from online vendors, our shipments come with no temp-control, so by the time we got our hands on it, it was frozen, blown up and broken. We will know in winters to come to plan ahead with stock or know to order around mother nature.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We offer a variety of hand selected NA beer, mocktails, wine, low-dose THC and CBD beverages and so much more. We differentiate ourselves from other local stores by marketing by catering to the sober-curious or sober-living community. Please understand that this passion project’s mission and vision, there is no judgement, and we meet each other where we are, individually.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Truly, never say never. I used to say and think, ‘I could never not drink alcohol.’
Hurt people hurt people.
You can do anything you put your heart and actions to.
