Today we’d like to introduce you to Myah Keller
Hi Myah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
After completing certificates in Esthetics, Massage, and Advanced Practice Aesthetics at Saint Paul College, I started my aesthetics career working for Waxing the City. A couple years later I started Hunny Bunz Aesthetics with hopes of broadening my craft and creating flexibility within my schedule while simultaneously attending nursing school.
Hunny Bunz Aesthetics is a one stop shop for your all over hair removal needs. I specialize in bespoke brow treatments (laminations and stains) as well as intimate facials (Vajacials and “Bunzacials”). After aesthetics school and in my training with my previous employer I discovered my love for body treatments and intimate skin care. I find immense happiness and fulfillment in helping women achieve healthy skin by means of quality aftercare advice and products as well as monthly treatments.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
A big challenge for me has been juggling nursing school with owning my own business. However, my business serves as my personal creative outlet and oftentimes it’s hard for me to pull myself away. Before I started Hunny Bunz Aesthetics my main fear was how I was to get clients on my books and keep them there month after month. Now, after a year in business, I struggle with setting boundaries at work and struggle with taking clients on my off days and scheduling breaks. I never would’ve thought that my main challenge would be where to fit clients into my busy schedule. Despite this, I continuously make sacrifices daily for my clients and for the smiles on their faces when they leave my studio.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in full body waxing, intimate facials, and bespoke brow treatments. I am known for painless waxing services as well as prioritizing skin health and client satisfaction. Waxing is not just an in and out service for me. It is about building meaningful relationships and going above and beyond to educate my clients on the importance of skin health especially when it comes to intimate areas with hair. I am extremely proud of my ability to educate clients on the simple ways to prevent reactions and to avoid issues commonly associated with hair removal. My personality definitely sets me apart from others. As soon as my clients walk in the door they are my number one priority until and beyond when they leave.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Touch is extremely important and humans need basic touch in order to survive. I’m the months and years following 2020, I am continuously reminded by how great of an impact therapeutic touch has in our lives. For those who may be elderly or who live alone, sometimes the monthly treatments from an Esthetician is the only touch they have. This is why having a gentle and meaningful touch is of utmost importance.
