Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Ciresi.
Hi Nick, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have always been interested in music, ever since I was young. The real push to make music of my own was seeing Nine Inch Nails live for their tour in 2013. Something about that concert made me realize that I should finally commit to making music of my own and expressing myself. Making music has truly helped me understand myself. I began releasing music in 2014 and have been growing as a person and an artist ever since.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No journey worth chasing is ever without challenges. I have faced my fair share of turmoil over the years. I’ve fought with depression and falling into slumps where I want to give up on everything. I’ve had to deal with the loss of my mother and father when I was in my mid twenties. There’s so many low moments that I have struggled. No matter what, music has always been the guiding light to lead me out of the dark.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Music is my job, but I also write poetry, paint and do shoot the occasional photo every now and again.
My proudest achievement would be my album SOUL PURGE. I was in a very low point of my life and unsure if I’d ever make more music. Finishing that album was such an amazing feat that truly showed me that I will conquer any challenge.
What sets me apart from the rest is that no matter what, my music is something that is always authentic and never something looking to be a cash grab. If I’m releasing music, it has an emotional connection with me and I am sharing it with the world in hopes that it connects to someone else too.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
As cliche as it sounds, always trust your heart and never let anyone tell you what your soul is worth.
