Today we’d like to introduce you to Sylvester Ware.
Sylvester , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my business Black Father Nation, I was a young father looking for resources and a career. After not receiving any help one reason is because I wasn’t on child support. Made me realize I had to make my own business of finding and funding resources for fathers like me and from my community.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s always been an obstacle because of where I come from nobody will support you until a celebrity a Rich person do.
The most common struggle I had is investing into merchandise for the business and people not wanting to buy it only wants it for free.
We did give away some free stuff but the end goal is to make money to help fund the company.
We lost my mom Virgie Lee Robinson this year 07-31. Mom was 70 fighting lung cancer, the most giving loving person in this world she inspired me to continue pushing the brand and one day the world will support us. Losing mother is a tremendous loss to the brand but we will honor her wishes and keep grinding keep hustling and keep being positive. Ms V

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
BFN was started to assist fathers with fatherhood. Resources, workshops and even dad’s clubs.
It’s hard being a father and even harder not having a job or career to support your family.
We are trying to inspire fathers to be the best they can be.
We have a free community BBQ every year on Father’s Day weekend.
We’re on our 9th year.
We just love to support and give back to those in need.
We fund our business by selling merch and we also take donations. We don’t get much donations but we still taken them.
I want the world to know we are here to help and assist fathers and families.
