Today we’d like to introduce you to The Modern Era By Nick Pelowski.
The Modern Era, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
For 15 years, The Modern Era has been serving up loud, fast, hook-heavy punk rock with enough attitude to shake the walls and enough melody to stick in your head for days. Born in Minneapolis and raised on stages, dive bars, clubs, and festivals, the band has built its reputation the old-fashioned way: one show at a time. Revitalized in 2022, The Modern Era returned with a renewed fire, bringing together longtime members and new blood to push the band into its next chapter. Leading the charge is lead singer Jack Swagger, alongside brothers Ben and Nick Pelowski. Joining the lineup in recent years are Chris Fister, Josh Ripley and Jake Hall!! Just punk rock and roll played exactly the way it was meant to be.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We’ve had our challenges just like a lot bands out there. We were scammed by an A&R company for thousands, we’ve been duped by some bad promoters, typical road things with gear and the van, and we’ve had some member changes over the years. We always wish the best to any and everyone who has ever been a part of The Modern Era community. Those moments have shaped and pushed us to be the musicians we are today. We’ve realized that being a traveling band takes a big commitment to everyone involved but we wouldn’t trade it for anything!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We are known for being a high energy rock band from Minneapolis, MN. We are proud of being a part of such a vibrant community. Some of our accomplishments are playing festivals such as Summerfest in Milwaukee, touring with the Meat Puppets, performing at local iconic venues such as the 7th Street Entry, Triple Rock, 400 Bar, Turf club, Green Room, and many others. What sets us apart from others would our raw organic tone and high energy rock shows!
