Meet Tracy Uttley of Uttley Real Estate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracy Uttley.

Hi Tracy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
For most of my life, I put a lot of energy into helping others achieve their dreams and goals. My life changed, however, when I started investing in myself. I left an unhealthy work environment and started my own business as a real estate agent. All my gifts and talents that I had poured into others, I applied to my real estate business. I used my business acumen, people skills, and creativity to be one of the top agents in my brokerage. My success gave me an enhanced sense of personal power and self-esteem. I love my job and have grown beyond my wildest imagination; my clients have become a part of my family. I fiercely negotiate to close the deal on their behalf with professionalism and kindness. In addition, I receive a tremendous amount of joy from helping others. For example, I helped Shirley buy her first home at age 69 and helped my aunt Judy sell the house she had lived in for nearly 50 years. I also have done many food drives in my community, hoping to nourish those in need. I am proud of myself for starting a new career in my later years, making a difference in the community, and making life-changing contributions to the lives of my clients and their families.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
To succeed as a realtor, I had to put myself out there. Rejection greeted me frequently as it simply came with the job. However, I overcame the pain and shame that rejection brings by making it a game. I tried to get rejected at least once a day for thirty days so I would experience it. Then, instead of running when I felt the slightest tinge of rejection, I accepted it as a way to learn and grow.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I light up when I talk Real Estate! I love to help people sell their homes, buy a home, invest in rentals, or purchase a vacation property. I understands the importance of exceptional service, including negotiating the purchase contract, arranging the financing, overseeing the inspections, handling all necessary paperwork, and supervising the closing. My wealth of knowledge gives me an edge in developing a winning strategy to sell your home for the top dollar. I have many contacts and resources to make your home stand out to potential buyers. My innate ability to connect with people and my astute business acumen make me an outstanding realtor. I try to bring enthusiasm and fun to everything I do.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting?
Limiting thoughts were the only things holding me back from starting a new career. I encourage others to pay attention to any negative self-talk and then find ways to lift above it. Most people have the skills, talent, and drive to work at a job they love, but their inner voice discourages them. It’s okay to feel the fear, but do it anyway! I believe self-confidence comes from stepping out of our comfort zone and trying new things. I tell myself, “I am unstoppable!” You are too!
