Nicole White of Elk River on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Nicole White and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
That we are a novelty and just another one-off event mobile bar. But we are more than that. We’re connectors, creators, and exceptional hosts. Tap Truck Midwest exists to bring people together through highly intetional experiences that feel personal, joyful, and beautifully human. We create the kind of moments people talk about long after the last drink is poured. We believe shared experiences have the power to transform people. Andwhile we love a good one-off event like a wedding or milestone celebration, over 70% of our clients are repeat!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Tap Truck Midwest is a mobile bar that utilizes a vintage 1953 GMC Panel Tap Truck to serve, celebrate, and create a one-of-a-kind experience that helps people feel seen, cared for, and part of something light-hearted yet meaningful. Every detail is personalized and customized for our clients to elevate their celebration beyond “just bartending.” We build connections of the heart and help provide an intentional space where people can slow down, feel welcome and be present while sipping on a local beer or curated cocktail poured straight from the truck.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
When I became a Mom to my son, Jack (6) he completely shaped how I see myself. Really see myself.

I think we all have various seasons of growth that shape and reshape us throughout our lifetime, but nothing changes your perspective or resets your values like becoming a parent. I think you truly become who you were meant to be when you become a parent. When you have to start putting someone other than yourself first. He taught me to be fully present again. To see beauty in the mundane. I apply that as much as I can in my day-to-day life, finding joy in the small things which helps me have a servant heart for my business.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
It’s ok to change your mind. Growth is only found in the struggle. In the challenges. In the unknown. You can get really good at something and climb the ladder, and then what? It’s when you step out into the abyss that you have the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people, have different experiences and live a more rewarding life.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
How I make people feel, is more important than what I’ve accomplished.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
When I’m with the people I love the most. My husband, kids, family and friends. No phones. Fully present. Being in the moment and enjoying a good conversation, playing with the kids outside, sharing a meal.
