Rising Stars: Meet Abby Coffin of Minneapolis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abby Coffin.

Hi Abby, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
In 2020 my college roommates and I were going to school at UMD and we were bored in quarantine and decided to make an ice cream review page. It started as a blog and turned into an instagram account where we rated different ice cream shops in Duluth based on taste, price, selection, and vibes. After moving home to the cities after graduation, I started Tour de Ice Cream again with my sister and her boyfriend. For our “Minneapolis leg of the tour,” we have had different guest judges for each stop including family and friends. The reviews are dramatic, comical, and contain a ridiculous amount of emojis. It has been such a fun way to spend time with family and friends and try out new ice cream places around the city.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We’ve only ever done Tour de Ice Cream for fun and a good laugh, so we haven’t had any real obstacles, unless you count giving a ice cream shop a harsh review! We have high standards for ice cream and definitely don’t hold back.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Tour de Ice Cream is 100% for fun and laughs and is not a business! In my professional career, I recently finished my third year as a special education teacher at an elementary school. My co-hosts Mallory and Victor are both students at the U of M about to start their senior year, studying finance and mechanical engineering, respectively.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can follow Tour de Ice Cream on Instagram @tour_de_icecream and follow along with our reviews! We are open to suggestions of where we should go next.
