Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Hoffman
Hi Alexandra , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my hair journey nearly 10 years ago which is crazy to think about because it seems like just yesterday, I was in my first salon working as a new stylist under a training program. From that point I have been working in commission salons for more than half my time sense being licensed when one day I just thought to myself I would love to be my own boss with the flexibility and freedom that came with that. I took that leap and have truly loved it sense, the ability to take continued education classes that I was interested in and really change who was sitting in my chair that matched the services I loved doing and was interested in. I always thought the “goal” for me would just be being a independent stylist with a full books and just striving to make all my clients happy when they are in my chair until I got a opportunity that fell into my lap by just coming up one day. I got a call from my mom stating she seen a salon that was for sale and was wondering if I would be interested in salon ownership and I am not going to lie I said “no” because I felt continent where I was in that moment but I agreed to see it and when I say ” it just felt right” it was the exact thing I felt when I walked into that salon. My mind completely changed from that moment and I just seen how great I could make the booth renting experience for the stylist and what great client experience I could provide with all my ideas of how to utilize that space and do a bit of remodeling. I feel this is where I was destined to be and something bigger was meant for me even though I could not see it prior to this opportunity.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I would say overall for me it has been a smooth road because I have always had a passion for the beauty industry and the fire to learn more and achieve more. I have had my hard days, yes. But, who doesn’t have a hard day here or there at work sometimes. You just have to think “today is a new day and we are going to make today better than the last”.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have had an eye for hair extensions sense I started my hair career. Actually, I would say that was one of the biggest motivators for me going to beauty school. I have always struggled with thin & fine hair my whole life that just seems to never grow past a certain length and never has fullness. So I really took my insecurities I was dealing with my hair and really wanted to find solutions on how to give people great hair with making them feel confident with their hair, Extensions has really been my art sense going Independent with lots of education and trainings, my most recent being Invisible Bead Extensions. I want my clients to have the luxury of having long, thick and beautiful hair without the damage that might come with it and finding a hair extension solution that minimizes that was my goal. Everyone should love their hair and that is why I am so passionate about hair extensions. From having them sit in my chair and doing that deep dive in a consultation about their hair goals, concerns and what their struggling with when it comes to their hair to doing the install and seeing the confidence and overall happiness when they look in the mirror and see that hair that they always wanted is what makes me do what I keep doing. You can’t put a price on how it makes someone feel, it’s like the light and confidence is brought back to them and they can now conquer the world. It may seem such a silly thing to most people but it can be a huge thing to someone that is truly struggling with how their hair appearance is looking and for me to fix how someone views themself and help make them feel beautiful is the least I can do and it brings me so much happiness.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I would have to say understanding and transparency.
