Hi Andrea, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It has been an amazing adventure growing into the brick and mortar of Simply Andie’s. It all started with one little bottle of essential oil decades ago. That essential oil turned into hundreds of more bottles and the beginning of Andie’s Homemade Naturals. In 2017 a small table at the Thief River Falls Farmers Market lead to traveling vendor shows. Those vendor shows grew into the first brick and mortar called Earthly Goods by Andie. At that time, I needed to be able to reach the many that had enjoyed my all natural products around the state, earthlygoodsbyandie.com blossomed a few months after opening. Move forward to 2019, pre~covid. My tiny little shop was bursting at the seams, but the perfect space just became available. In March of 2019, I went from 100 square feet of retail space to 2200 square feet. How do I fill all that extra space? The timing could not have been more perfect, covid shutdown happened and all the craft and vendor shows are canceled or put on hold. These local folks needed an outlet to move their goodies. Name change time! Simply Andie’s has now been born, a vendor consignment gift shoppe. I worked hard on social media and we were a success while many seemed to struggle. Curbside pickup rockstars is what we became! This time period taught us so much about going with the flow day by day. Simply Andie’s is thriving today with 67 wonderful families selling their personalities under one roof. We are known as the shop with a lot of heart. Everything we do, we do with love.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There have been many struggles and a lot of hard work to get Simply Andie’s where it is today. We take each day with clemency. We refused to let Covid stop us, we never gave up and we made it through the dark period with style and grace.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Earthly Goods by Andie is still my main focus at Simply Andie’s. My made by hand natural products are a large part of Simply Andie’s. I call myself a semi~naturalist… I love Diet Mountain Dew and Fruity Pebbles, but when it comes to health ailments, natural is always the first step in healing. I now have 200+ recipes in my arsenal and love researching how essential oils or our line of CBD products my help us all first. All of Earthly Goods by Andie’s products are handmade in small batch form.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Dedication is the most important tool needed when starting your venture into a new business. Never allow the words “I can’t do this” or “I give up” be part of your vocabulary. Take a moment to step outside your own box and see the view others see. I find that this helps with the assessment process of how to fix or alleviate a problematic situation.
