Hi Emerson, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a former Villanova cheerleader with a master’s degree in electrical engineering. I grew my blogging side gig to a full-time six-figure influencer brand, classycleanchic. I share how to style elevated chic outfits, videos of my adorable cavapoo, Coco and am open book when it comes to friendships, tips to feel confident in a bikini & the Minneapolis dating scene as a sober 31-year-old.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes & no. From the outside it appears being an influencer is easy & there is a moment when you “blow up”, but in reality it’s showing up every day and continuing to create content, have new ideas, and be interesting all while navigating life: friends, family, relationships and the ever-changing political climate. I have loved every minute but sometimes it’s overwhelming feeling like you aren’t doing enough, being interesting enough or sharing the best sales.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a fashion & lifestyle Instagram/TikTok influencer. In 2018 I started posting my daily outfits on Instagram && started to grow a following. I took Instagram full-time at the beginning of 2020 with about 120K followers on Instagram. In 2020, I started posting on as well TikTok sharing ways to wear different pieces. In 2022 I unlocked my secret recipe on TikTok: walking through my bedroom door + sharing 5 different looks. I now have 900K+ on TickTock and 400K+ on Instagram.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I honestly see “taking risks” as opportunities: going to College across the country, taking a job in a city I’ve never lived, moving again to a new city & new job, and quitting my full-time engineering job to take Instagram full-time. So I guess you could say I’m a risk taker but in all these instances I knew it was the right thing to do and was super excited for the next chapter/step in my life.
