Rising Stars: Meet Erik Peacock of Lakeville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erik Peacock.

Hi Erik, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my personal training career accidentally as I was a computer science major but switched majors in college because I did not love sitting in a cubicle. I ended working at ay a YMCA in college and then a big club chain the Twin cities after I graduated. After many years there I realized I did not like the corporate gym setting and had an opportunity to open my own personal training studio in a new facility tht my friend a chiropractor was building. I wanted to do things that focused on helpng people versus solely numbers and quotas that was pushed at the big club. Here I am 20 plus years on my own and have built a great team and have awesme clients

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No it has come with many challenges like the recession and Covid. I had to work through these two difficult season n our country that ruined a lot of businesses. I have a strong faith in God that kept me strong and resilent. We had to think out of the box to make it through those times and keep our staff. There are always challengs of losing staff and clients and trying to replace them. It is a challenging but rewarding business.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a ceritifed personal trainer and nutrition coach. I hep desing and implement exercise and nutrtion programs for people who simply don’t have the time, energy or knowledge to do it on ther own. We work with senors, middle age moms and ads, and busy corporate profesonals. My #1 moment was helping a woman walk a 5k after being in a wheelchair for 13 years. We are known for taking on the tough cases no one wants to

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I could never have done it myself. I give credit to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who gives me strength ai don’t have. My mentor and coach Camelia who is my business coach/mom who keeps me accountable to run my business well. My staff who are passionate about helping others . It takes a village. And I thank my wfe and kids for putting up with the crazy schedule that my profession has. My dad passed away this year and he was always a big cheerleader and encourager too.
