Rising Stars: Meet Freda Steffl of Mankato

Today we’d like to introduce you to Freda Steffl

Hi Freda , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started singing and acting from a young age while attending church with my family. I’ve always known I loved entertaining people so I decided to get an education in my line of career with the advice and encouragement from my parents. After graduating with a degree in Theatre from the Minnesota state university, I set off to produce my first movie which has since then won awards and then professionally started recording my own original songs. My success in both landed me an interview and a front page cover girl on the Minnesota women’s magazine River Valley Woman magazine..

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been somewhat smooth but there are always obstacles in any career/business. My obstacles, I would say is not getting as much exposure:recognition as I deserve. But I am persistent and hopeful that my talent will shine bright in the near future.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a singer, an award winning producer, actress and a published model. I am proud to have been able to achieve the little success in my career field while also being able to raise my 3 sons, ages 10, 8 and 6. My talent, motivation and positivity sets me apart from others.

How do you define success?
In my opinion. Success is getting to that point in life where you can feel and see that all your dreams have come through and you’re more filled with happiness.
