Hi Heidi, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Beans is the nickname I’ve had in my family since I was little, and when my coffee-loving father passed away unexpectedly 20ish years ago, the concept of my coffee shop began in his honor. We opened in Fargo in 2014 and are so thankful for our community’s and customers’ support all these years!!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The competition of big chain coffee companies keeps us constantly trying to improve and change and be better as Beans gets older! The Covid years were a unique challenge, but our delivery service and drive thru thrived as result!

Beans is a very special place with the motto “Pouring love…one cup at a time”! Beans showers our customers and community with kindness every chance we get, every day. Beans has lots of comfy seating inside our beautiful space and on our patio, along with a kids area so parents and their sweeties can enjoy Beans-time together! We support many charities thruout each year, and have a beautiful giving tree program that collects and gives out winter gear to those in need all winter long. Beans’ is most known for our special and adorable donut-topped beverages- every cup of coffee has a homemade yummy mini donut on top as a free little treat for every customer, and it’s fun to see the joyful grin when we hand each beverage out:) We have a daily Bean of Light that inspires and encourages our customers and team! Our First Love espresso and coffee roasts are Beans own creations and the reason why we win Best Coffee in Fargo almost every year! You can get cases of single-pot frak paks on our website for delivery at your home or office too!
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I’m the oldest of 3 children, and because my dad was a football coach we moved ALOT growing up. This resulted in me being very social, making and having lots of friends everywhere we went, and a true love for people and their life stories. As an athlete, I grew up always on a team. This combination makes Beans what it is- my Beans team works together to make Beans a winning business that truly cares for every person we serve and tries to be a light in every person’s day!
