Rising Stars: Meet Jeremiah Schuster of Saint Paul

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremiah Schuster.

Hi Jeremiah , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After moving to MN from Australia, I was hungry to work in the video production industry. I started working for the original owner of Harvest, just helping out where I could. Eventually, we realized his heart was in other things, and my heart was in filmmaking, so I bought the company and took ownership.
Harvest started very organically, purely out of a passion for filmmaking. We started shooting weddings for family and friends, word got out, and we continued craft films ever since. A Long the way, our team has grown and matured. Eventually, we split the business to house both Harvest Wedding Films and Harvest Film Company, embracing the commercial video production side of the business. Our team is like a small family. We love working together and have experienced so much together.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No good journey is without a bumpy path. But that’s what makes it interesting, right?! There is an assumption that growth is always an upward trend… “bigger is better” “more is better” … We’ve always been focused on quality and connection. SO some years that’s looked like “less” others “plenty”. Covid threw us for a ride. But there’s a lot to be said for consistency. simply outlasting the challenges and continuing to grow our creativity through it all.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
at Harvest wedding films were known for our custom, beautiful wedding films. We make films that tell a couples story for who they are. not overly cheesy , not over the top. Just authentic wedding films.

At Harvest Film co. Weve done a lot. We’ve got experience in almost all genres of filmmaking, but I would say we’re most known for our branded content. We create engaging videos that inspire people and help businesses thrive.

We recently had some work featured in Times Square. We also created a documentary that has made its way into festivals all over the world and even won some of them. Very proud of those achievements. But mostly proud to be able to say we’ve created a career out of doing what we love. I love what I do, not everyone can say that.

I think our character sets us apart. We care deeply about people. We’re new generation filmmakers, forging our own path and fighting some of the stigmas of what it takes to be successful in this industry.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
If you know your strengths, if you know exactly what it is you love. Stick to it. Don’t waste your time trying to fit a square hole when you know you’re a circle. If you don’t know, try everything until you find it. Find good people who want the same things as you and stick with em.
