Today we’d like to introduce you to Jill Jacobson
Hi Jill, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
To be fully transparent, this started off as a little hobby that I never planned to put a lot of effort into. I’ve always loved fashion and photography, so the content I was posting was just bits of the life I was living. Before I knew it, companies were reaching out to me asking me if I would post content for them. I was shocked, but it made me realize how lucky I was to be able to share my favorite bits of life with those who cared to see it. I started partnering with other companies and helping them expand their engagement, setting up zoom meetings with local businesses and giving them tips, as well as attending events to shed light on some of Minnesota’s highlights. Right now, I’m taking this opportunity one day at a time, meeting wonderful people, and loving every moment of it!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The transition from creating content for a hobby to creating content for “Work” was something that happened almost without me realizing. I think the biggest struggle is comparing where you’re at with your work to those around you with similar platforms.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
One of my most popular things is my office outfits of the day. Overall, just style and fashion in general. I love overdressing, dressing up for every occasion and I truly believe in the “Look good, feel good” mentality. I love to emphasize that regardless of what you’re body looks like, you can find clothes that make you feel amazing about yourself. I love to make every day special, and I feel like one of the ways to do that is the way you dress. Wear your extra tall heels to work, spend extra time on a new hairstyle just to run to target, paint your toenails when no one will see them.
More recently, I’ve also been showcasing fun events/things to do in Minnesota and I plan to expand that part of my creativity’.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
As a Minnesota native, I’m sure it’s no surprise that Jenna Kutcher is my Beyonce. “The Goal Digger Podcast” is a podcast I listen to every week. After doing so, I usually will jot down a few helpful hints, as well as that week’s creator goals I’d like to reach!
