Rising Stars: Meet Kelly Kakaley and Gina Zappa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Kakaley and Gina Zappa. They shared their story with us below.

Kelly Kakaley Gina Zappa

Both Gina and Kelly have over 10+ years in the experiential marketing industry executing nationwide events. We came to realize there was a missing piece in the puzzle. With the day and age, we live in and social media being a continuous buzz, we knew that there was a need to provide clients with sizzle reels and post-event video recaps.

While working on an event, we decided to make a reel for fun, to provide the staffing company and creative agency with a video recap. At this point, Call the Shots Production had not even been a thought in our minds. The reel was a huge hit and both the staffing company and creative agency asked how they could hire us for future video needs. From this point on, Call the Shots Production was established from the ground up within one week.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Our first week was busy as new business owners. Just to name a few tasks: we picked a name, created a logo, applied for an LLC, opened a bank account, launched our social media profiles, and upgraded our video production equipment.

We quickly learned how time-consuming each task could be in the process of starting a new business.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We go beyond the ordinary and specialize in creating captivating visual content that aligns seamlessly with brand identities.

From concept development to post-production, we take pride in providing top-notch videos tailored to our client’s unique needs!

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
We enjoy reading business books focused on entrepreneurs in various fields.

Following their trial and tribulations are not only fascinating, but we also walk away with new knowledge and refreshed inspiration. Overall, reading business books is an investment in both our personal and professional growth.
