Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Busch.
Hi Lindsey , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my journey at Hennepin Technical College in 2004 graduating with a Professional Florist diploma in 2007. I have worked in and managed in a handful of well known flower shops in the twin cities area over the last 20 years, and decided to take the leap into owning my own studio, for I love the floral industry and what I do. I have had the privilege to participate in the Macy’s flower show in 2013 and 2014 in downtown Minneapolis as well as participating in Art in Bloom at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts for multiple years. In 2015 I obtained my certified floral designer accreditation through the American Institute of Floral Designers, the floral industry’s leading non- profit organization dedicated to establishing, maintaining and recognizing the highest standard of professional floral design. I was then inducted into their institution in the summer of 2016, proudly showcasing my credentials onto my name. In the winter of 2016 I received the opportunity to start a yearly tradition of volunteering with the South Pasadena’s Tournament of Roses in South Pasadena, CA. Working long hours with old and new friends to complete a beautiful float that rides down Colorado Blvd every New Year’s Day in the Tournament of Roes, Rose Parade. Being a part of this parade is something I look forward to participating in each year. The summer of 2025, I stepped out of my comfort zone and participated in the North Central Designer of the year competition at the Minnesota State fair, placing in the top 10 for my bridal bouquet. Floral design is an art and I enjoy challenging myself to create beauty with flowers. The floral business is ever evolving and I love being a part of it, meeting new people, learning new things from within the industry and am more than excited to share my artistry with you!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part my career has been a smooth road. Of course situations arise and you have to learn and grow from them. However I wouldn’t change any of it for I would not be where I am today without them.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a full service floral studio. I design weddings, funerals, and everyday floral arrangements, but I especially live doing bigger events with a theme. It lets my creativity flow and being able to showcase the artistry of floral design in a variety of ways. There are a few events that I am extremely proud to have had the opportunity to participate in, but one of the big ones was earlier in my career at the Minneapolis Downtown Macy’s Flower Show the theme that year was ‘Secret Garden’. Here I got to design my own piece for the public to view that was displayed on the first level of the department store for 3 days. What set’s me apart from other’s is that truly take pride in what I do, with a little flair and a lot of aloha, whether big or small, my goal is for you to love the flowers you receive as much as I do.
