Oleksandra, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey into aesthetic medicine began more than 15 years ago after completing my medical education in Ukraine. Throughout my career, I have always believed that aesthetic treatments should not only improve appearance but also restore confidence and improve people’s quality of life.
Over the years, I specialized in both skin treatments and permanent makeup, which gave me a unique understanding of facial anatomy, skin healing, pigmentation, and aesthetics. Years of hands-on experience allowed me to develop my own perspective and eventually led me to create my proprietary method. By combining expertise in skin health, facial anatomy, cranial structural work, lymphatic techniques, and aesthetic medicine, I discovered that the best results come from treating the face as an interconnected system rather than focusing on a single area.
Over the years, I also specialized in laser technologies, scar and stretch mark camouflage, vitiligo camouflage, scalp micropigmentation, and facial rejuvenation. I have completed numerous advanced international training programs, worked as an educator, and served as a judge in international beauty competitions.
One of the most meaningful parts of my work has been helping people with conditions that deeply affect their confidence, especially scars and vitiligo. This work became personal because vitiligo has touched my own family, inspiring me to dedicate myself to developing better solutions for patients.
My passion for natural rejuvenation led me to study cranial anatomy, facial biomechanics, fascia, and osteopathic principles. Today, I am developing my own proprietary method of facial osteoplasty, combining cranial structural work, skin science, and aesthetic medicine to achieve natural facial rejuvenation without surgery or artificial-looking results.
In 2022, because of the war in Ukraine, my family and I were forced to leave our home and rebuild our lives in the United States. Starting over was incredibly challenging, but it strengthened my determination to continue helping people and sharing my knowledge.
Today, I am the founder of Brows, Skin & Laser Studio by Alexandra in Minnesota. My mission is to combine medical knowledge, artistic precision, and innovative techniques to help people look and feel their best. Looking ahead, I plan to continue refining my proprietary method, educating professionals internationally, conducting research, and making advanced aesthetic treatments more accessible to patients around the world.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has definitely not been a smooth road.
I grew up in a modest family, and from an early age I understood that if I wanted to achieve my goals, I had to work much harder than most people. Nothing came easily, and every opportunity had to be earned through persistence, discipline, and continuous learning. Looking back, I believe those challenges shaped my character and became one of the main reasons I have achieved what I have today. I am truly proud of that journey.
One of the greatest challenges came in 2022, when the war in Ukraine changed my life overnight. Before the invasion, I had built a successful career, owned my own beauty studio, invested in expensive professional equipment, and spent many years building a business that I truly loved.
When my hometown became occupied, my family and I had no choice but to leave. We escaped with only a small suitcase, leaving behind our home, my business, expensive equipment, and everything I had worked so hard to build. Losing almost everything and starting over in a completely new country was one of the most difficult experiences of my life.
After arriving in the United States, I had to rebuild my career from the ground up—learning a new system, obtaining new licenses, overcoming the language barrier, and earning the trust of clients all over again.
Professionally, I have always challenged myself to find better and more natural solutions for my patients. Rather than accepting conventional approaches, I continued studying, attended international training programs, and combined my knowledge of medicine, skin treatments, and permanent makeup. Years of experience in both skin health and permanent makeup allowed me to develop my own proprietary method for scar and vitiligo camouflage. My goal has always been to create natural, long-lasting results that not only improve appearance but also restore confidence and improve the quality of life for people affected by scars, vitiligo, and other skin conditions.
Another important goal of mine is to validate my medical education in the United States and continue expanding my professional qualifications. However, as someone who was forced to leave Ukraine because of the war, the uncertainty surrounding the future of many Ukrainians in the United States and my own immigration status has made it difficult to confidently plan the next stage of my career. At times, that uncertainty makes me question whether I should begin the long and demanding process of validating my medical education. Nevertheless, it has never changed my determination. I continue investing in my education, refining my proprietary method, and working toward the day when I can fully combine my medical background with my experience in aesthetic medicine to help even more people.
These experiences have taught me resilience, adaptability, and perseverance. They reinforced my belief that even after losing everything, it is possible to rebuild, continue growing, and make an even greater impact through your work.
I don’t measure my success by what I lost because of the war. I measure it by what I have been able to rebuild—and by how many lives I can continue to improve through my work.

What I do goes far beyond aesthetics. To me, my work is about restoring confidence, dignity, and hope.

Throughout my career, I have always believed that behind every scar or skin condition there is a personal story, and my job is not simply to improve someone’s appearance, but to help them feel like themselves again.
One case that has stayed with me forever involved a young woman who had been attacked by a dog. The injury had torn away nearly half of her upper lip, leaving her with severe scarring and facial asymmetry. She came to me after everything she had been through, hoping that I could help restore what had been lost. I remember feeling deeply emotional when I first saw her. It was heartbreaking. Together, we carefully reconstructed the natural shape of her lip through permanent makeup and camouflage techniques. Seeing her smile again with confidence remains one of the most meaningful moments of my career.
Another area that is especially close to my heart is vitiligo camouflage because it is deeply personal to my own family. My mother has lived with vitiligo for many years, and one of the reasons I wanted to learn this profession was because I dreamed of helping her camouflage the areas that affected her confidence. Life, however, took an unexpected turn. The war forced me to leave Ukraine, and now I live thousands of miles away from her. I still hope that one day I will be able to help her in the way I always imagined.
Today, this mission has become even more personal because my daughter has also begun developing vitiligo after experiencing the severe emotional stress of fleeing the war. Watching this happen as both a mother and a medical professional has been incredibly painful. It has strengthened my determination to continue improving my techniques and helping others facing the same challenges.
Throughout my career, I have also had the privilege of helping women who lost their eyebrows during chemotherapy. Creating natural-looking permanent eyebrows for them was never just about appearance—it was about helping them see themselves in the mirror again during one of the hardest periods of their lives. Their smiles, tears of happiness, and renewed confidence reminded me that this profession has the power to heal emotionally as well as physically.
What sets me apart is that I don’t simply perform procedures—I genuinely care about every person who sits in my chair. My medical background, years of experience, and my own family’s journey have taught me to approach every client with both precision and compassion.
One of my biggest dreams is to establish a foundation that provides scar and vitiligo camouflage treatments free of charge for people who cannot afford them, including cancer survivors, children with vitiligo, and individuals living with facial scars after trauma. I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to look in the mirror and recognize themselves again.
What does success mean to you?
Success, to me, is not measured by money, awards, or recognition. It is measured by the number of lives I can positively impact.
Every time a client looks in the mirror and smiles after years of hiding a scar, every time someone with vitiligo feels confident enough to wear short sleeves again, or every time a woman going through chemotherapy sees her eyebrows restored and feels like herself again, I am reminded why I chose this profession.
Success also means never giving up, even when life forces you to start over. I lost my home, my business, and everything I had built because of the war in Ukraine. I came to the United States and began again from nothing. Being able to rebuild my career while continuing to help people has become one of my greatest achievements.
I believe true success is using your knowledge and skills to improve someone else’s life. That is why I continue learning, developing new techniques, and working toward validating my medical education in the United States. I want to combine medicine, aesthetics, and innovation to help even more people in the future.
One of my biggest dreams is to establish a foundation that provides free scar and vitiligo camouflage treatments for people who cannot afford them, especially cancer survivors, children living with vitiligo, and individuals who have experienced traumatic facial injuries. I believe that confidence should never depend on someone’s financial situation.
If, years from now, people remember me not only for the techniques I developed but also for the lives I helped change, I will consider myself truly successful.
