Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie LaFleur.
Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Wow! I spent over 24yrs in the Military, Minnesota Air Nat’l Guard, retired MSgt. Spent over 12yrs with the State of Mn and retired. I have been doing Airshows since 1987. I just retired from that and ran Operations for over 20 plus Airshows in Duluth. We have raised 4 children and 10 exchange students from around the world. My husband of over 30 years likes to purchase de funk companies and rebuild them. We are serial entrepreneurs. We own and run over 12 companies in Duluth & Aitkin Mn. In 2008 we started our first company, and currently, in 2022, we have 12. We have an Anesthesia company, a commercial/residential real estate company, a whitewater rafting company, a golf facility, two movie production companies, and more. We love Duluth! We raised our children here and can’t imagine being anywhere else. Teamwork is how we got here. Family is our glue.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
Oh my goodness, NO. Money is always the issue, never enough, and then COVID, but we always work thru and get the job done. By the way all our companies we have over 45 employees. It’s not easy, but then what in life is easy?
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
Customer service sets me apart from Golf to Whitewater Rafting to Making Movies. I care. Sometimes too much. I always go the extra mile and then some. I am known for my crazy woody laugh and my big personality. I am not shy; I am strong and driven. When given a task, I get it done. Sometimes, well, most times, I am loud and brutally honest. I love people and knowing we have given them a great experience. Life is an adventure, and you only live once. Live. Be. Do
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Duluth is Adventure! It has ALL four seasons and people from around the world. We are makers of things to do, eat, play, and chill if you want. I love Duluth! I raised my children here; they stay and now raise theirs. It was why we host exchange students so that we can experience them, and they can experience Duluth and all it has to offer. We are a Little BIG town! I wouldn’t say I like our lack of support for our mental and homeless humans.
