Rising Stars: Meet Torsten Glaenzel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Torsten Glaenzel.

Hi Torsten, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
It all started with of course one little camera, when working with it and discovering the possibility to do with it about 9 years ago the fascination for it was growing over time. Changing the ideas and getting the eye for it. Most and mainly it was to make an impact in other people’s life. Show them thru the lens what they may not see while looking in the mirror or even the unseen moments in the everyday life. Capturing the details of the moments and combining it with the aspect of the art. Show and tell a story thru visualization. The interest in keep moving forward during the years made it more to a lifestyle rather than just a passion for a job, it became an important part of my everyday life. Always the people in the foreground since Headshots and portraits are still the main focus of it. From there on in 2021 the studio was born and I moved into the present location where many ideas and dreams became reality.
Inspiration and motivation to others.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not, absolutely not, there were so many things, from starting things where I never expected to make even a dime of it to where it is today. From how to do it and what to do, everything around it and inside of it had to be learned in a new dimension. Many times got declined and have heard it over and over again. Willpower and attitude mixed with gratitude was what kept it going

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As a photographer and visual artist, I am mainly specialized in portraits, headshots and visual storytelling. Known for the edgy and grunge look with dark shadows and its blueish tone to it. Bringing out the expressions in people like they have never seen themselves like this before, far beyond the “normal” type of let’s capture your moments. This is way deeper it is an interaction with the personality of the people and each individual as a human being. Further driven to show of the commercial aspect of photography what makes it attractive even to view the content. Letting emotions speak for itself in many different ways. It can be from normal looking the most versatile style what makes it so unique.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
To be honest, I do not know, I can not predict the future since in our time age things are shifting way to much, but one thing is for sure, we live in a visual world.
