Today we’d like to introduce you to Tory Lemoine.
Hi Tory, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Tory and I was born and raised in south Louisiana! I created my TikTok just for fun and had no intention of becoming a creator. I started posting videos of fun things that my family and I were doing and started to gain a significant following. We love eating and trying new restaurants, baking, exploring, and traveling. It all started when I would post Cajun restaurants that we would try and review (in my “Louisiana Date Night” series) and the historical places we would visit. When I saw the interest that people had in finding things to do with their families, I continued creating quality content and sharing all of the fun things that we do in a more “professional” way. It actually landed me a job with a marketing company as their Social Media Coordinator!
I love promoting businesses and taking my followers along. This is why, when we often visit family in Minnesota, I take my followers with me on the road too! (Or, in the air, rather. That would be a far drive!) We love the change of scenery and all the things that Minnesota has to offer. I think my Louisiana followers like seeing this rare, strange thing called SNOW. Haha! But it also allows people to virtually explore other states right from their phones. And if they are ever in the land of 10,000 lakes, they would have some neat ideas of where to eat and explore. We love visiting Minnesota and experiencing all it has to offer. In my spare time, I like to bake, do yoga, ride horses, and care for the animals on my Dad’s farm. I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
One of the struggles of sharing your life online is opening the door to negativity and people who leave hateful comments. I’ve had my fair share but usually block them. We should spread more love in the world and the internet makes it too easy for people to bully others and get away with it. I try to be a positive light and spread love, always.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Interestingly enough, I started out my career in Veterinary Medicine. I went to college for Animal Science, and later earned a degree in Veterinary Technology. I worked as an Animal Nurse for several years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. This is when I started my TikTok and became a “creator”.
It gave me the amazing opportunity to become a Social Media Coordinator for a marketing company. I was told that my TikTok was what landed me the job. How crazy is that?! I love what I do and enjoy promoting businesses while being creative. I sometimes miss Veterinary Medicine but I have enough animals in my life to fill that void.
What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Do what you love, for you and not for anyone else. Ignore the haters. And always spread love!
