Today we’d like to introduce you to Vicki Trimble.
Hi Vicki, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After driving past an old liquor store for 2 1/2 years, I decided to retake a business course at Riverland College to evaluate the possibility of turning it into a flower shop. At the time there were 5 flower shops in town and as of today, there are now just us and the grocery store.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a struggle from the start. 911 was one year in, 4 floods. Lots of city changes to this area of town (business and home removals because of flooding and 2 large bridge underpasses removed by the state).
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are a full service flower shop. We have always specialized in a more modern style floral. We also have home decor, plants, clothing. We service cemeteries supplying urn service. We sell urns, stands pick up and delivery.
What’s next?
At this point, my granddaughter and niece are involved in the business and we hope to do more greenhouse.
