Gozie, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
It varies on the season but I try to pray, read a bible chapter, brush my teeth, mouthwash, floss, shower, outfit and get breakfast before heading to work.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Gozie Ukaga LLC is my imprint and I have always been passionate about surprising my audience with something that is captivating. I work in music production primarily but have been involved in other multimedia capacities in the past few years.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I think more than anything I was happy. You have to find that balance between playing your role and being true to who you should be everyday. I’m much closer to that person than I have been in other eras of my life.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Never. Not with Jesus Christ.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. I don’t think there’s much to hide anymore people figure out who they’re dealing with eventually.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I’d probably retire to be honest.
