Story & Lesson Highlights with Kelly Yetzer of Downtown Little Falls

Kelly Yetzer shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Kelly, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
One of the most surprising, and heartwarming, things I’ve learned about my clients is just how much trust they place in me, often from the very first conversation.

Many walk through my door not just looking for a beauty service, but carrying deeply personal stories, hopes, and insecurities. It’s humbling to realize that what I do goes far beyond brows, lips, or restoration—it’s about giving someone back a piece of themselves.

That trust is something I never take for granted, and it’s why every appointment is unrushed, intentional, and crafted entirely around the person in my chair.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Kelly Yetzer, owner of BeYOUtiful Ink Studio in Little Falls, Minnesota, where beauty and restoration meet artistry. For over seven years, I have specialized in luxury cosmetic tattooing such as nano brows, lip blush, and eyeliner as well as advanced paramedical tattooing including 3D areola restoration for breast cancer survivors, scar camouflage, and stretch mark revision.

What makes my work unique is the combination of technical precision and a deeply personal approach. Every appointment is unrushed and entirely tailored to the person in my chair, whether we are enhancing natural features or restoring what was lost through illness, surgery, or injury. My passion lies in helping people feel beautiful, confident, and seen because the most meaningful transformations are the ones that happen on the inside.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I was just 11 years old, spending the weekend at my aunt’s house. Our time together was simple but meaningful. We would read the Bible and watch her favorite ministry programs like The 700 Club, Jimmy Swaggart, Charles Stanley, Chuck Swindoll, and Billy Graham.

It was during one of those visits that I made the decision to give my life to Christ. In that moment, I felt a strength and power unlike anything I had ever known before. It was an unshakable sense of peace, purpose, and connection that has stayed with me ever since

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that has held me back the most is the feeling that I am not good enough or that people will judge me for what I do. The irony is that everything I have taken on in my life, I have been successful at. I give my very best, work hard to do things the right way, and consistently go above and beyond to exceed expectations. Yet, even with that track record, the fear has not completely gone away. It is something I continue to work through, reminding myself that my worth is not determined by the opinions of others.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I believe with all my heart that every woman who has undergone a mastectomy should have access to areola tattoos if she wants them, and it should not cost her a single penny. This work is about so much more than restoring a physical feature. It is about helping women reclaim a piece of their identity, their confidence, and their sense of wholeness after enduring one of the most difficult journeys of their lives.

Far too often, the cost of this service becomes a barrier, and that is something I want to change. I am deeply committed to creating a nonprofit that allows people to contribute to this cause so that financial limitations never stand in the way of healing.

My vision is to make it possible for every woman, regardless of her circumstances, to experience this life changing restoration. No matter how long it takes, I will continue working toward the day when this becomes the standard of care and not a privilege.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
Oh my gosh, yes. From the moment I moved past the fear of tattooing someone’s face, I knew I had found my calling. What once felt intimidating quickly became my daily passion. Now, every morning I walk into BeYOUtiful Ink Studio with happiness in my heart and joy in my soul, knowing I have the privilege of creating something truly meaningful for each person in my chair.

There is nothing quite like seeing the look on a client’s face when they see their transformation for the first time. Whether it is enhancing their natural beauty or restoring something they thought was lost forever, those moments fill me with gratitude and excitement. It is a beautiful feeling to love what you do so much that work never feels like work—it feels like purpose.
