We recently had the chance to connect with Larissa Lien and have shared our conversation below.
Larissa, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
We’re starting off deep! I am chasing time freedom for my family. My husband, who is also an entrepreneur and I want that flexibility and freedom to be with our kiddos and be there for their passions. We work so hard and are so passionate about what we do, and if I were to stop chasing that dream of freedom and flexibility, it simply wouldn’t happen. I am not about to let that happen.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I could tell you so much but I’ll try to keep it short and sweet rather than the deluxe double feature. I am an entrepreneur creating content for brands whether that be products or services. My dream as a child was to be an actor and I find it fun that I get to be that, but in a different way than I imagined! I do a lot of voiceover work with b-roll or talk to the camera. I also have my own wellness boutique with non-toxic supplements that I am so passionate about as all things lifestyle, wellness, and family life are my biggest parts of who I am. I get to weave those aspects together with my wellness business.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents taught me a lot about great work ethic as I grew up. I saw my mom and dad working hard in their jobs, and then came home to feed us and be present with my sisters and me by playing together. I saw my parents at their jobs and the hard work they put into everything they did.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would say to her “everything you are going through, shaped who you are today.” There were some hard moments growing up, but looking back, it made me stronger. The moments that could have broke me, made me become the hard-working, happy-go-lucky, driven woman I am today and that is so beautiful.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
So many believe in the world of content creation “I have to have X amount of followers to be successful.” This is not true at all. What is true is that you simply stay true to yourself, be consistent, and post what resonates with YOU.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
That is a great question-I feel that I am doing what I was put here to do. What started as a creative outlet with content creation turned into so much more. What started as me wanting to work on my own health and wellness, turned into others being inspired and wanting better out of their lives too.
